FFFFOUND! is just amazing. Not only does it offer image bookmarking, but it also suggests images you might like. I’m not sure how they get into my brain to figure this out, but let’s just consider that irrelevant for now.
Through the “New for you!” function I found the sock monkey that I posted a couple days ago. It is designed by Beck Wheeler, who is an artist living and working in Australia. Her website tells me that she has been making toys since 2002, and she launched her first toy line, kissy kissy toys, in 2004. She is also a committee member of Illustrators Australia and a Lecturer within the Illustration Department at NMIT, Melbourne. And look at her stuff!!

Another toy maker I discovered yesterday is Blobbyfarm. Blobbies are designed and made by wife and husband blobby farmer team Maria Samuelson and Christopher Lynn. The names of their blobbies and the stories behind them are hilarious. Check this out:
Toothy McHairlip. Toothy is an avid reader of The Newbraska Picayune. He spends his days writing letters to the editor, scouring the pages for spelling errors, fact checking every item, and pointing out potential fallacies to his mother (with whom he lives). Toothy’s last night out with a lady ended in tragedy when his date admitted to never having picked up a copy of the Picayune. If Toothy seems like your type of guy, and you read the Picayune, you may want to drop him a line.
Oh NO! I just clicked on The Nebraska Picayune, to discover that they’ve decided to stop the Blobbyfarm altogether. What a disaster. All of a sudden I’ve gone from ‘hey look at these cool things’ to ‘hey look at these extinct things’. Anyhow, here they are, Blobbies. RIP.

And another excellent toy maker from rummaging on Flickr: a Dutch lady called Mariska Vos (yay for local!). Her toy line is called Fluffels. It is available for purchase on the Fluffels website and in her Etsy shop. You can keep track of Mariska’s new creations on her blog.
Now- a bear with intestines hanging out! I like.
